We get it—returns can be a hassle. That’s why at Gnareun, we’ve designed a clear, straightforward policy to make the process as easy as possible, whether you’re shopping in the U.S. or Mauritius. Since all our apparel is stocked, packed, and shipped directly from our U.S. facility, you can count on consistent support from our team.

1. Eligibility for Returns

To ensure a smooth return process, please make sure your item meets these basic conditions:

  • 60-Day Return Window: You have a generous 60 calendar days from the day your order is delivered to request a return. This gives you plenty of time to try on your new clothing and make sure you’re happy with the fit and style.
  • Item Condition: The item must be unworn, unwashed, and in its original condition with all tags still attached. We cannot accept returns for items that show any signs of wear, such as deodorant marks, pet hair, perfume scents, or any other modifications.
  • Proof of Purchase: A screenshot of your order confirmation or the original receipt is required. This helps us quickly and accurately match your return to your order.

2. If the Fault Is Ours

If we made a mistake, we’ll take full responsibility. This includes situations where:

  • The item is defective: Your apparel arrives with a visible flaw, such as a broken stitch, a misaligned print, or a faulty zipper.
  • The wrong item or size was sent: You ordered a medium t-shirt but received a large, or you received a completely different item than what you ordered.
  • The item was damaged in transit: The package was visibly mishandled, and your item is torn or heavily wrinkled upon arrival.

What we’ll do:

In any of these cases, Gnareun will cover 100% of the return shipping cost. We will email you a prepaid return label. Once we receive the item back at our facility, you can choose to receive a full refund, including the original shipping fee, or a replacement if the item is still in stock. This policy is the same for customers in the U.S. and Mauritius.

3. If You Change Your Mind

Maybe the color doesn’t match your style, or the fit isn’t quite what you were looking for. No problem!

  • Item Condition: The item must be returned in perfect, sellable condition: unworn, unwashed, and with all original tags attached.
  • Return Shipping Cost: In these cases, you are responsible for the return shipping fee.
    • U.S. customers: You will pay for the return shipping.
    • Mauritius customers: You will also need to handle the return shipping and any potential customs charges. We strongly recommend using a tracked shipping service to ensure your package gets back to our warehouse safely.
  • Refund Amount: We will issue a full refund for the product price only. The original shipping cost is non-refundable.

4. Items Not Eligible for Return

For hygiene and operational reasons, some items are final sale:

  • Gift Cards: These cannot be returned or refunded.
  • “Final Sale” Items: Any product marked “Final Sale” is not eligible for return unless it arrives defective.
  • Used or Altered Items: We cannot accept returns for any item that shows signs of use, such as stains, scents (perfume, smoke), or missing tags.

5. Refund Timeline and Method

Here’s what you can expect once your return is on its way back to us:

  • Processing Time: Once we receive and inspect your item at our U.S. facility, we will initiate your refund within 7 business days.
  • Refund Method: We will process the refund to your original payment method (e.g., credit card, PayPal). All refunds are in USD. If you would prefer store credit, just let us know before we process the refund.
  • Bank Delays: After we issue the refund, it may take your bank an additional 3–7 business days to post the funds to your account. This is a standard bank process that is outside of our control. We will send you an email notification as soon as your refund has been issued.

6. No Restocking Fees

Gnareun does not charge restocking fees. The product price you paid is the amount you’ll get back (excluding shipping fees if the return is not due to our error).

7. How to Start Your Return

To begin the return process, follow these simple steps:

  1. Email Us: Send an email to [email protected] with your order number and a brief reason for the return. If the item is defective or incorrect, please attach photos or a short video to help us assess the issue quickly.
  2. Get Instructions: We will review your request and reply within 1–2 business days with detailed instructions and a prepaid return label (if your return qualifies).
